According to Strategis Group (one of those thinktanks that gathers research and publishes $3,000 industry reports) Consumer revenues from wireless location-based services are projected to hit $18.5 billion by 2006, a 100-fold increase over 1999 revenues of $30 million. Analysis Research also indicates wireless location-based services global revenues will reach $18.5 billion by 2006, of which the consumer market accounts for 77 percent of these revenues.
